James Lee Sorenson
Chairman, Sorenson Development, Inc.
Jim Sorenson is a nationally recognized business leader and entrepreneur who helped develop several new industry categories in today's business world. Under his leadership, Sorenson Medical developed a line of portable, microchip-controlled infusion pumps that deliver drugs safely while allowing patients mobility and lifestyle flexibility during chemotherapy or pain treatment. As CEO of Sorenson Media, Sorenson developed the world's leading digital compression-decompression software and the first high-quality, low-cost videophone. He also created a nationwide video relay service for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, which was acquired by GTCR in 2005 in the most lucrative private equity deal in Utah history. Sorenson's other leadership responsibilities include The Sorenson Group, which owns and is developing over 60,000 acres of industrial, commercial, residential and retail real estate, and Sorenson Capital, which has raised approximately $650 million to invest in small- to mid-size U.S. companies. He also serves on the boards of a number of charities and community organizations.
Naresh Trehan
Dr. Naresh Trehan is best known as Founder, Executive Director and Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon of the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center. EHIRC is widely respected and recognized as one of the largest heart institutes in the world. He trained at the New York University Medical Center. On the business front Dr. Trehan runs his Institute at a high level of economic proficiency and attends on the board of several high profile corporations. Dr. Trehan has been recognized with a number of distinguished and prestigious honors and awards including:
• President of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, USA, 2004-05.
• Honorary Fellow Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australia in 2000.
• Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in recognition of his distinguished service in the field of Medicine in 2001.

Alan Hall
Alan E. Hall is the founder and chairman of MarketStar Corporation, a global outsourced marketing and sales company with a focus on assisting high-technology companies increase sales through the small to medium business sectors. MarketStar, owned by Omnicom Group (OMC), generates billions of dollars in sales for its clientele. Mr. Hall is also the founder and chairman of Grow Utah Ventures, a not-for-profit entity with a mission of stimulating economic development through entrepreneurship. Recently, Mr. Hall established Mercato Partners, a growth equity venture capital firm which invests in high-growth technology companies. Alan is the chairman of the Utah Technology Council, a trustee of Weber State University, a member of the advisory board of Wells Fargo Bank, and a trustee of the Intermountain Healthcare Foundation. He has been the recipient of the Ernst & Young and Mountain West Capital Network Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Amy Rees Anderson
Amy Rees Anderson serves as the CEO of MediConnect Global, Inc. (www.mediconnect.net), the industry leader in online medical record retrieval. Amy is responsible for all aspects of the MediConnect business including the overall management and strategic direction of the company. Under Amy’s direction, MediConnect launched an aggressive domestic and international expansion, and posted three consecutive years of record sales growth more than doubling revenues year over year. Naveen Trehan
Naveen Trehan is a veteran of the medical billing industry with over 20 years of experience. After graduating from The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Naveen spent nine years in public accounting at Price Waterhouse and fifteen years building MD Revenues, a successful medical billing company in the United States. Naveen, who is originally from India, appreciates the needs of U.S. firms while understanding how best to do business in India. James LeVoy Sorenson served as a distinguished member of the MediConnect Global Board of Directors from 2006 to 2008. His contribution to the growth and success of MediConnect is surpassed only by his deep impact to the healthcare industry. MediConnect is honored to have worked with Mr. Sorenson and thanks his family for his lasting influence.
James LeVoy Sorenson was a renowned American entrepreneur who invented and produced many ingenious medical devices that are standard equipment in healthcare today. His innovations revolutionized critical healthcare practice and helped spawn today’s thriving biotechnology industry, including enterprises such as Abbott Critical Care Systems and Becton-Dickinson Vascular Access. Known foremost for developing sophisticated catheter systems used to enable computerized heart monitoring, his other inventions include the first disposable paper surgical mask and the first blood recycling system for trauma and surgical procedures. With more than 40 medical patents, it is likely that a medical innovation by Sorenson is at work in every operating room and intensive care unit in the United States. Most recently, Sorenson worked to transform the way family history research is done with the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, a non-profit scientific organization that is building the world’s largest correlated genetic genealogy database.
